Cebu's Blessed Pedro Calungsod

As I was researching for various churches in the province of Cebu, I came across the website of the Cebu Archdiocese which highlights the coming canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod. I could not pass up the opportunity to be as elated as the Cebuanos are, and I felt that it is a must for Savvy Sojourns to share this wonderful news. Beatified in March 5, 2000 by Pope John Paul II, Cebu's native will be canonized in October 21, 2012 as announced by Pope Benedict XVI.

This is absolutely wonderful news not only for the Cebuanos but the entire Filipino Catholics in the entire globe.

I hope to be posting more updates in my future posts.

I would like to thank the Cebu Archdiocese and Msgr. Ildebrando Leyson who allowed me to upload the photo of Blessed Pedro Calungsod.
